Pierce Lake Golf Course Maintenance Blog

14 Nov

I would like to welcome you to the first Pierce Lake Golf Course Maintenance Department Blog.

My name is Brian Klender and I am the General Manager/Golf Course Superintendent. The goal of this blog is to give of fans and customers weekly course updates highlighting course conditions and maintenance issues.

This week, November 12th to November 17th we are spraying our winter fungus chemicals on our greens and tee to prevent snow mold. This season we are using a product called Civitas. Civitas is a non-toxic chemical that is made of mineral oil. This chemical gets into the plant and makes the plant create proteins that help fight off pathogens.

Using this chemical reduces environmental impact and actually will help with spring green up in 2013.

We hope that you will check back weekly for more news on the Pierce Lake Maintenance Department.

See you next week!!
